Kick-off meeting Smart AgriFoodTech Solutions
The official kick-off of the Interreg project Smart AgriFoodTech Solutions (SAFT-Solutions) took place at Treeport Zundert. During the meeting, the project partners got to know each other and the seven use cases being developed as part of the project were presented.
Laser precision for weed control
Vanhoucke Machine Engineering is involved in one of these seven applications: weed control in tree nurseries using laser technology. Artificial intelligence (AI) is used to detect weeds, after which they can be precisely targeted and controlled with a laser.
The project brings together farmers, technology companies and knowledge institutions from Flanders and the Netherlands to develop and test new technologies.
Over the next three years, we will work together with the project partners on the development and field testing of this laser technology for weed control.
